We get this question a lot, actually. Basically, our site was founded by former athletes that wanted to keep in touch with each other and additionally, wanted to enjoy many of the friendships and fond memories that were formed during our younger years. We all work very hard in our jobs and careers, and lead very "grown up" lives. But at the same time, we wanted a place and a way to stay in touch and enjoy our passion for sports. In 1997 we were having trouble putting together a draft for our league. So one of us came up with the idea of a contest where we would keep it in the family. The cash that is, we could kill two birds with one stone so to speak. We would get all the fantasy and sportsbook action in one contest. A draftless fantasy league where you picked winners instead of players. A game that you could be excited about each and every week. So we determined that we could lead professional lives and raise our families successfully, and then occasionally hang out on a top-notch web site and be "large boys," i.e. adults that could occasionally enjoy the same purity and passion for our sports backgrounds that we had when we were kids and young adults.
